Jorge Rivas is a Communication and Film & Media Studies student at UC Santa Barbara originally from Whittier, California, and he is really passionate about marketing, media, and music. At UCSB TV, he is part of the editorial team where he manages the organization’s website and helps run its social media platforms, creating content and keeping our digital presence active and engaging.
He also works at the Pollock Theater Soundstage at UCSB, where he manages the filming equipment such as cameras, lighting, and sound gear. This role has given him hands-on experience with the technical side of media production while supporting student projects and creative work.
Outside of campus, he is a Career Prep Fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow in Washington, D.C., where he was selected for an 18-month professional development program for high-achieving college students. Through the program, he completes business case studies and leadership assignments to strengthen hi analytical and professional skills while attending conferences with companies like Deloitte, LinkedIn, and Target.
He is especially passionate about marketing and hopes to eventually become a marketing director in the music industry at companies like Spotify or Live Nation Entertainment. In his free time, he loves going to concerts and collecting physical music formats. Music has always been a huge part of his life, and is a big reason why he is so interested in the marketing side of the industry.
