This new feature helps protect Apple’s users from unsolicited and explicit content.
ISLA VISTA, Calif. — Apple said they had received multiple requests from their users asking for protections against explicit content before releasing the “Sensitive Content Warning” feature.
According to Apple, a U.S Pew Research poll found that 52% of young women and 37% of men between 18 to 29 have been sent unwanted or nonconsensual sexually explicit content.
This is not the first time a feature like the “Sensitive Content Warning” has been implemented. Social media platforms will warn users right before showing something graphic by implementing a blur feature and asking if they want to continue.
