ISLA VISTA, Calif. — Farmacy, Isla Vista’s first cannabis dispensary, opened its doors for the first time on Pardall Road on December 15th.
Cannabis is a recreational product of the cannabis sativa plant that can be used for its medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Cannabis is known to aid with sleep, anxiety, nausea, pain relief, and more, and can be ingested through eating, smoking, or drinking.
However, despite the medicinal benefits of cannabis, marijuana use is still heavily stigmatized and criminalized throughout the United States. Here’s Courtney on the stigma surrounding cannabis use.
